| Scam Warning |
There are currently several companies contacting computer users across the UK purporting to be from Security Software Companies, PC Vendors or Microsoft.
The caller will advise the customer that they have viruses/spyware on their computer, and talk them through a process to prove this to them. They will then tell the customer that they have to pay a nominal fee to purchase security software to remove the threats.
This is a scam - DO NOT be fooled by this, and do not pass any personal information to these companies. In most cases there is actually no threat on the machine and the caller is creating a false threat.
Galore recommends that customers book in their computer for a Health Check in any case just to be sure, and change any frequently used passwords as a precaution.
