Windows 10 Upgrade Information
Windows 10 is the latest version of Microsoft Windows in the series and it serves to replace all previous versions of Windows. There are direct upgrade paths for customers using Windows 7 and Windows 8 or 8.1. The latest version is far more secure, it's faster and is designed to be easier to use. There is also the welcome return of the Start Menu, something which was removed in Windows 8.
Galore strongly recommends our customers look to Upgrade to Windows 10 as soon as possible - for some, Windows 10 is actually free of charge for one year - see below for more information
Upgrading from Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1
Customers who have a genuine version of Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 on their computer can upgrade automatically by registering for the Upgrade by clicking on the White Windows Icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen (see Photo). This will automatically update the computer on or after 29th July 2015 to Windows 10.
Galore can also do this upgrade for you during a clean installation as part of our infamous Full Wipe Process - this means you get in effect a brand new installation of Windows 10 running at peak performance without losing any of your precious documents, photos or music. During August 2015, Galore is charging only £50 for this process which is a saving on our normal Full Wipe price! If you aren't confident allowing your computer to update automatically or if your computer is already running slow before the Windows 10 upgrade, we strongly recommend this option.
Upgrading from Windows XP or Windows Vista
Windows XP or Windows Vista customers are not elligible for the Free Upgrade process and must purchase a new licence for Windows 10. Prices haven't been confirmed yet, but we expect it to cost around £80.00 for a licence. Galore can do this upgrade process for you again at the reduced rate of £50.00 for the Full Wipe Service plus the cost of the Windows 10 Licence.
Galore will first carry out an assessment on your computer to ensure it is worthwhile upgrading to Windows 10 as some older computers using Windows XP or Vista may simply be too slow and it isn't financially worthwhile upgrading them - we will let you know if this is the case free of charge.
